quote: I've done the online E-QIP (SF 86 in electronic form). I've also signed all the disclosure forms and done my fingerprints. I know there's still a drug test to come, but I don't think there's a physical. I believe they're trying to move away from the one face at the border thing because it didn't work. And I'll need to do a Video Based Test. Does anyone know anything about this? Is is just to make sure I'm not a drooling moron? |

Don't tell them it's not working !
Google your CBP video based test & it will lead you to links. Nothing is sacred anymore! Again, might want to ask Buckeye for specifics if you need more 411. If you're this far along, you could call/email and ask about a tentative EOD date. If it's still one face going on, do you have to go to Glynco? |

The Ag inspectors get trained for 10 weeks in Frederick, MD. It was decided that one-face made an individual try to be an expert in too many things, and it was a failure. So they're splitting them back up again. At least, this is my understanding. Now I just have to overstuff a priority mail envelope to get those forms back to them. Following unclear and sometimes contradictory instructions must be a part of the test.

They got my package with all the pre-employment forms on Monday at 10 am. The hiring dept overnighted me a piece of paper on Wednesday with my scheduled VBT interview. So I guess the only things left are the drug test and for my BI to clear. Can you study for the VBT? Should I even worry about not passing it?

Video-Based testing (VBT)
Video-Based testing is a new method for assessing interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and other skills that are not easily assessed through a written test. The applicant watches a video of several realistic job scenarios such as the questioning of a very hostile individual by a CBP officer. After each viewing, the applicant has 45 seconds to respond as if he or she were part of the scenario. The responses are videotaped and later evaluated by trained assessors. The VBT has been implemented in seven locations for the selection of CBP officers and is scheduled for nationwide implementation in 2005. Doesn't sound like something you can study for other than to recall Psych 101 & Abnormal Psych from undergrad days. Measures your ability to meet & deal under stress. |

I applied for the same job as my friend swamper but for the florida area. However they don't seem to be moving as fast as they did for her. They did reopen the posting is that a good or bad sign and does that mean it will take longer to hear something? I was per qulified and everything just hav recieved any preliminary offer or rejection or anything for that matter.
So since the arizona posting closed friday I put in my app. there to since they were hiring for many instead of a few positions. Any advice? |

I applied for the position that had a closing date in late april. I wonder how long it will take them to contact us and hire someone.
I took the video based test for the physical security specialist position on april 1 but screwed that up because I thought I was being interviewed for teh agricultural specialist position. At the end of the interview they asked me if i knew what position I had applied for and mentioned to them the name of this position and then they just handed me name of hte position on a sheet of paper I guess the only positive thing was that they asked how flexible I was on relocation. |

What do you know about the food inspector position? I applied for it about a month ago but he closing date isnt until sep 18. Is there a high demand for food inspector positions?
Does the food inspector position get lots of job candidates? I wonder how much more or less difficult is it to be a food inspector versus agricultural specialist? quote: |

The drug test is on Friday. This means that I've completed all the steps in less than a month after the TO was sent out.
