I left federal service (Veterans Administration) about 10 years ago after many years of federal service: 3 military, 3 civilian overseas, and approx 10 with the VA.
Had reinstatement eligibility for VA employment. I've been back at the VA for over 1 year. Since I had reinstatement rights, should I be in the second category for Annual Leave like I had when I left 10 years ago? I'm now getting annual leave like I had just started working with the VA. Noticed on my pay statement that Computation date is about 1 year ago. Is this correct? |

I believe your leave should be reinstated at the same rate per/pay period as when you last worked for the Federal Government. That's the rate I was reinstated at when I came back to work as a reemployed annuitant and I believe that rule generally applies to rehires. I suggest you actively pursue this within your Human Services department until you get an answer and adequate explanation.
I believe the following regulations apply: http://www.opm.gov/feddata/gppa/Gppa06.pdf
